Disk-based Data Protection with BakBone NetVault: Backup and Data Domain

A combination of NetVault: Backup and Data Domain deduplication storage delivers a cost-effective, easy-to-deploy, flexible, disk-based data protection solution. It provides:

With a choice of Network (CIFS and NFS) and fibre channel connectivity, customers are able to deploy disk-to-disk backups into their existing infrastructure with no disruption. While fibre channel deployments may ultimately provide greater data throughout to the VTL, network-based VTL’s are faster to deploy when no existing fibre channel environment is available. Whichever connectivity solution is chosen, NetVault: Backup presents the same disk-to-disk backup functionality, presenting a common look and feel to the backup administrator.

With this feature enabled and configured, the Data Domain system appears to NetVault: Backup as though it were one or more physical tape libraries.
