Data Domain Starts Operations in Research Triangle Park N.C.

Industry Veteran Ken Hibbard Joins Company as VP of Engineering and East Coast Operations

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — February 1, 2008 —Data Domain (Nasdaq: DDUP), the leading provider of deduplication storage systems for disk backup and network-based disaster recovery, today announced that it will establish a new Operations Center in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park. The new facility will house additional Engineering, Customer Support and Inside Sales personnel to help fuel the Company’s continued expansion. Data Domain also announced the appointment of Ken Hibbard to Vice President of Engineering and East Coast operations. With his appointment, Hibbard will assume responsibility for the new East Coast-based facility and its staff.

Hibbard comes to Data Domain from Network Appliance, where he was Vice President of Product Engineering. He joined Network Appliance in 1998 and was named Vice President of Software Development in February of 2000. In January of 2001, he became Vice President of Product Development and East Coast Operations.
